Updates to contributor regarding GirlScript Summer of Code (GSSoC) 2024!
This Newsletter is a guideline for all to get started irrespective of PA’s Contributors & Mentors, Each green square on the contribution GitHub graph represents a day of dedication and hard work. Here are some guidelines to get started.

Visit the GSSoC Website: Navigate to the projects section on the GSSoC Website.
Find Your Match: Browse through the projects and find the one that interests.
Start Contributing: This is a tricky part for beginners, watch the video below.
Join our GitHub Organisation to know your mentors, and PA.
For those contributors not yet received confirmation emails: Drop your email ID.
Link to discord server is there on Confirmation mail sent to you.
We know you might have lot of questions to get started, ask your questions below and get GitHub Galaxy Brain Achievement badge.

What labels should we check?
Look for labels:
gssoc
,level1
,level2
,level3
.
Points Distribution for PRs: Let your PA know if they using wrong label.
Every gssoc label PR: 1 point
Level1: 10 points
Level2: 25 points
Level3: 45 points
Levels are classified by difficulty and updated on the leader board twice a day, Leader board will be live from May 30.
We are onboarding new projects for you to meet the demands, We hope this will increase more issue for you to contribute.
Final Mentors list/Discord channels will be updated once it done.
Maintaining Leader board Position:
Focus on contributing to high-difficulty issues (Level1, Level2, Level3) rather than quantity of PRs.
Make sure your labels assigned for both issues and PR’s and respective levels else it wont update in Leader board.
We have removed few projects from the program due to inactive, If you already contributed to it, your PR will be still counted.
We noticed Leader board spam, Project Admin make sure you assign labels contributor deserve. For GitHub action automation and documentation PR don’t assign label more than level1.
If you are stuck with contribution or conflicts mentors are right person to contact. Let us know they are not helping you by flagging the mentor.
